About
Community
What is this Community based PGS for you or why are you involved in it?
Modern food markets are exploitative and dehumanized. Participatory guarantee systems provide an alternative through direct connections with farmers. These direct links eliminate intermediaries and develop community ties, redefining food and food systems.
Solidarity is the key virtue here; sharing value, as well as risks and privileges across society. That is the extra step we all have to take beyond the convenience of modern markets, supply chains and delivery, to develop a deeper connection with food, land and people.
