Khaled Sleem has contributed to reforestation efforts in Lebanon and has written two books: “Trees of Lebanon” and “National Guidelines for Nursery Management, Native Trees, and Shrubs.” He has also played an important role in establishing quality standards for reforestation. He has also contributed to the development of plans and guidelines aimed at converting agricultural societies from conventional agriculture based on chemical inputs to low-input sustainable agriculture (Agroecology), has acquired may expertise in this field viz. composting, essential oil extraction, pest control, and smart irrigation

What is this Community based PGS for you or why are you involved in it?
I believe that the Participatory Guarantee System is the most socially just and healthy approach, ensuring that the rights of both producers and consumers are fully respected
What motivates you to be part of SILA?
The ultimate condition that I dream of is farmers who produce fresh and processed food and sell them all for local consumers
